What is an SSL or Secure Socket Layer? |
|
Answer:
SSL is short for Secure Socket Layer, a commonly SSL was originally developed by Netscape and is supported by Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer, Firefox as well as most other web browsers. An SSL layer can be identified via the URL. If you see https: instead of http: then your currently secure via an SSL. On most web browsers there will be an icon of a lock at the bottom of the screen. The lock will appear closed when on an SSL secured site. SSL has recently been succeeded by TLS, transport layer security. Trackback(0)
