Thought can arise in any individual and there is no need to take any training for it. However thoughts are affected by the type of education or the profession concerned. The ability of thought is equally present in males as well as females of any age group but their way of thinking may differ.
Thought can be divided into major 2 types: -
(a) Positive Thoughts which arises in an individual who is having optimistic approach.
(b) Negative Thoughts which generally arises in an individual who is having pessimistic approach.

Positive Thoughts are good for the health of an individual but Negative Thoughts if present in an excess amount may even cause serious diseases like Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), panic disorders, anxiety, worry, stress, etc. and so must be treated on time.

The process of treatment of Negative Thoughts is known as Thought Stopping which involves diverting the mind away from factors with may cause stress to an individual. Thought Stopping must be performed under the supervision of a Psychologist, or Psychiatric, or Mental Health Professional, or counselor, and sometimes even the individual can perform it himself/herself.
