What is bias?

Answer:
Bias is the tendancy to prefer or side with a particular
idea or belief.

Bias refers to taking sides in an argument or belief and thinking the other side is wrong.  People are said to be biased when they do not look at both sides of the issue.  Bias can cause conflicts between groups of people and can cause the spread of misinformation.

In order for an individual or group to be unbiased, they must equally discuss both sides of every issue and they must question both sides.  It is rare to find individuals who are unbiased, so those who are unbiased are often found to be more credible and more truthful.
