PIP, also known as Picture-in-Picture,
is defined as the technology which allows the user to watch two different programs or channels on a single screen simultaneously by superimposing a small screen onto the larger main screen.


PIP Technology is present in many televisions made for the purpose. The essential requirement of this technology is that it requires two tuners. PIP Technology is been widely used in various TV programs like news shows, big studios, and sports broadcasters to show actions from two different angles at a time. The sound is mainly obtained from the larger main screen. PIP Technology is easy to work and one can use it at home for making personal videos unique also. The various properties of the Picture-in-Picture Technology can be configured by right-clicking on the transition and than selecting Transition Settings.

Today more elaborate versions of the PIP Technology are available which allows even more facilities to the users through resizing the window, helps to move it around at any desired location, helps in creating multiple still images as well as sometimes with the facility to divide the screen into two equal size images which is also known as Picture-Outside-Picture (POP).
