What is a semiconductor? |
|
Answer:
A semiconductor is an electrically-conductive solid whose Semiconductors are the basis of all electronic devices. They are usually made from silicon but dozens of other materials are used as well. The resistance of a semiconductor can be drastically altered by mixing other elements with the silicon and allowing the mixture to form another solid, or crystal. Semiconductors can only handle certain electrical loads, with the loads being dependent on the amount and resistance of material.
