What is an iPhone?

Answer:
The iPhone is a new cellular phone/mini computer
designed and sold by Apple Inc. used only on the AT&T network.  The iPhone has all of the functionality of a cell phone, and most palm units but a few distinct characteristics set it apart from the rest.

The iPhone allows the user to make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, take pictures, browse the internet, send and receive emails, play music, map directions, find local stores, watch stocks, jot down notes, buy songs through iTunes and the ability to connect to local Wi-Fi hotspots. All of these functions are preformed through a touch screen with virtual keyboard and buttons.

The touch screen is made with a scratch resistant glass and like iTunes the UI is flawless. For now, the iPhone is available only through AT&T (formerly Cingular), though there is talk of availability through other carriers within a few years and there have been some talk about hacks that enable iPhone owners to talk on other networks. The price of the iPhone has changed from $599 to $399 for the 8GB.
