What is a Polyphonic Ringtone?

Answer:
Polyphonic ringtones are ringtones that can
produce more that one sound at a time. Polyphonic ringtones do not produce a perfect reproduction of the music they emulate due to the fact that they cannot play lyrics but they are significantly better than standard ringtones.

Though polyphonic ringtones have the capability of sounding close to the original music they are designed after, the sound quality will differ with the cell phone it is played on. Most new phones can play polyphonic ringtones but if you have an older phone you might check with your provider or the phone manufacturer to make sure that it will be able to play the ringtone.

Though polyphonic ringtones sound better than their predecessor the monophonic ringtone, there is a new type of ringtone that can play at an even better quality known as realtones.
